Hey guys,

I'm planning on getting a new computer soon. I have a budget of $2000.00. And this is what I have come up with. If anyone things this is a rip off or has any other suggestions please let me know.

Case - Corsair Carbide Series 400R Case, no power supply
Intel Core i7 - Intel Core i7 3930K Desktop Processor
Intel X79 Mothebroard - Asus P9X79 PRO Motherboard
DDR3 Memory - Team Extreme VULCAN 16GB (4x 4GB) DDR3 KIT
Graphics Card - Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 - 3GB 384-bit DDR5 RAM
Main Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 - 1TB
Optical Drive - Lite-On 24x DVD-RW SATA
Power Supply - Thermaltake TR2 700W Power Supply
Fan Controller - BitFenix Recon Fan Controller - Touchscreen
CPU Cooling - Cooler Master TPC 812 CPU Cooler
Optional CPU Cooling FAN - Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120mm
Operating System - Microsoft Windows 7 Professional - SP1 - 64-Bit

What are you using it for? What is your monitor resolution? I can already tell you that the PSU in the build is bad quality.

You should get a 3770K with a Z77 board and save a bunch there and still get great performance. Then put more into the GPU and get a 7970 or a 680 and get a better PSU from Corsair, XFX, Antec, OCZ, Seasonic etc etc.

Go for G.Skill, Kingston, Corsair or Crucial RAM.

Thanks for the advice so far guys.

I just want it to be a good gamming PC. Monitor resolution 1920x1080

No overclocking is planned, I'm not confident with that :D.

Thanks for the tips "spirit" I will look into that to begin with

I have though about change to these due to the recommendations

Intel Core i7 - Intel Core i7 3820 Processo
DDR3 Memory - Corsair Vengeance 16GB(4x 4GB) Quad Channel DDR3 Kit
Graphics Card - Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7970 OC - 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5
Power Supply - Corsair Gaming Series GS700 V2 Power Supply

I'm also thinking about going with a AMD CPU, but I'm unsure if that is a good diea.

AMD FX Series FX 6200 Black Edition Processor

OK,

The 3770K is faster than a 3820 at stock, and much cheaper. The boards for the 3770K are also cheaper. Also the 3770K overclocks. It's a no-brainier for me.

What you want is the 3770K, a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H or UD5H board and that RAM is good.

The new PSU looks fine as does the graphics card. GTX 680 is a little faster though, but given the choice between the 7970 and the 680, I'd go for whichever is cheaper.

The 3770K will own the AMD pretty much completely. Even an i5 3570K does. Stick with Intel as you have the money.

Thanks for all your input spirit, I like the suggestions! I do believe that is the way I will be going! :D
