Just got my new mobo processor ram and op system. I’m building it on my existing computer, just put everything in, won’t start. Do I have to install the op system first then swap everything out?

What do you mean as in wont start? Pushing the power button and nothing /fans or power light nothing. Dead in the water?

If you swap the motherboard you need to reinstall the Operating System, probably wont start because of driver conflicts that were for the old board. Can run a repair install. Or try booting in safe mode, if it does go into add and remove and uninstall all of the old drivers. Try booting again, if it does reinstall the new boards drivers.

ok so it randomly started up, but im not able to install the new os. im going from a 32bit cpu to a 64bit. i think i need to erase my drive and intall it then. the only question is how do i do that?

you need to boot with the operating system install cd in, and have the boot order set so the system boots off the cd/rom or dvd/rom
