Hey, i just built my first computer. I like to record music, and im extremely into multi-media so i really like the mac OS over windows. My hard drive says its mac os x compatible but here is my question....is it possible for me to run mac os x on my new build, and if so how do i do it.

-here is my hardware...

-Gigabyte x58 motherboard
-Intel I7 CPU
-ATI radeon 4890 GPU
-8 gigs of DDR3 memory
-WD caviar green 1TB HD

Don't all of the parts have to be apple-approved or something like that?

I remember apple is pretty restrictive on what they let you put OS/X on.

If it won't work, you'll be fine with windows...there's not much a mac can do that you can't do on win7 as well.

mac or windows

the hardware musst fit to mac. you can see this on the description and the case.
mac is better for multimedia applications. but if you want to use mac i would suggest to use a apple hardware (macbook etc).
but windows 7 is a very good OS and will be a cheaper solution.

Explain this please? Windows can do everything OS/X can do. Maybe not always with the same programs, but the same things nonetheless.

No sense in buying a Mac if you've got an i7 machine...

the multimedia apps for mac are much better than the available apps for widows. and in my oppinio the applications for mac are much more friendly to use.
the disadvantage of a mac is the price.
