Well I spent sometime but I did end up coming up with this list, I am looking to purchase this new computer very soon. This will be my second build please do let me know if there are any suggestions you would like to make, or if I made any mistakes. This is all in my budget which is around 850usd, also feel free to recommend different processors etc.

That would all work. One thing I would change is the Raptor drive.

I would buy a VelociRaptor 150Gb instead. You'll pay about $80 more,
but the transfer rate is twice faster, plus you get more storage.

Raptor = 1.5Gb/s
VelociRaptor = 3.0Gb/s

Also, I would definitely consider a 64bit OS and 6 Gigs of RAM. =D

gotcha thank you for the reply, I think I am going to go ahead with xp pro serice pack 3 64 bit. I was thinking about possibly making the hard drive upgrade soon. Also getting another 9800gtx to SLI with of course that first and possibly upgrading to more ram as well.

You could back off on the Phenom 2 for now and save yourself $100.00
with a regular Phenom, or an X2 for that matter. Not many programs
utilize multi cores right now anyway. Entirely up to you though. If you got
the cash, just as well go all out for the cpu you want.

Another look at that board and I see it supports 8 gigs of RAM, so 6 wouldn't work anyway, sorry about that. (well it would work, but it would only run in Single Channel mode @ 3 x 2Gb sticks)

Also, I'd get Vista x64.

They've solved most of the compatibility issues, plus it looks much nicer than XP. (I use it and love it)
