i would choose an intel i5 760 (just bought one myself)

i would also use this motherboard

and ram wise id go for the corsair xms3 4gb 1600mhz

also id go for a 1tb samsung spinpoint f3 7200rpm, very good and always good to have more storage than you need,

and to be completely future proof, a blue ray drive such as

i would also go for the gtx 460 graphics card (1gb)

Why intel i5 over the AMD Phenom? The intel is slower, and less cores.

For games and benchmarks the i5 is faster.

Why not go for the i7 if I have the money? Or should I just wait a week or whatever it is until intel releases its new CPU's

for games the i5 and i7 are very similar, the i7 is better when it comes to video editing and the other stuff (got 4 hours sleep i cant think hah)

amd processors cant touch intel at the moment, if you can wait till intel release their new line then do that but its up to you
