New computer build

I'm still fairly new at building computers and I wanted some opinions before I built this one for my friend. He is mainly building it so he can play Battlefield 4. I've only built computers with Intel CPU's so I don't know if the AMD one that I choose for him is too much or not for gaming. His budget is around $900, $1,000 Max. I don't have a case picked out yet, but it will be an ATX Mid tower. It will also be running windows 8.1

Ok I'll get him a 760. It is only about twenty more dollars. The only reason that I don't have a case to list is because I gave him a few websites to look at and pick a few that he likes.

The 8350 is still a pretty good cpu an i5 4690k will be better but it is more expensive. I'd also swap the Gpu and if your on a budget go AMD so something like a 280x would be much better than the 660 as it is quite outdated and slow. It's also better than the gtx 760. Maybe consider the r9 290 also. On a budget AMD will give you better performance over nvidia with price.

I'm going to stick with the 8350. I'm going to ask him if we wants to spend that much on a r9 290, if not i'll just get the gtx 780. It should run Battlefield fine which is what he is really only worried about.

I don't think he needs an i5. And he likes how fast my computer starts so that is why I have an ssd in there. The cases he is looking at are between $40-$60. He doesn't care about fancy bells and whistles.

Sorry I had a typo. I meant gtx 760. The 970 is too expensive. I was actually recommending him the 200R. I used to have 300r and loved it.

I have the 200R, and I can recommend it as a budget case, but yhere are some minor issues. Looks worse in person, little to no room for cable management, and low airflow. It has nice tooless drive bays, and overall is a good case. Look at the NZXT S340 or something by cooler master
