New Computer, help needed

Hey guys, I need an upgrade bad so I can run this game called TheHunter... some of you may be familiar with it, but its not overly popular, so you may not, but its not a terribly hard game to run, but the decent graphics are way to much for my computer.

I am thinking about buying one of these computers, OR upgrading my old one... if anyone could tell me which is the BEST of the options, and how well it will run games... and do the first options already have windows on them? so all I have to do is put them together and they will work???

windows vista
dell inspiron 531
CPU: AMD athelon 64 x2 dual core 4000+ 2.1 GhZ
RAM: 4GB
TYPE: 32-bit
GPU: ATI radeon HD 2400 pro

UPGRADES--->Radeon 6770 GPU
Rocketfish 500W power supply
AMD 6000 CPU



So, which option is best? the first I will have to put together which is not a prob, but do they come with and OS already on them? so I can put them together, and play it as it is?

should I go pre owned, like in option 3? Seems cheap and reliable that it will work, but if I go preowned, what should I look for? (def going preowned if the above 2 comps in option 1 and 2 are not complete because windows runs around 100 bucks)

or should I do the 3 upgrades on my old computer? which would run me around 200 bucks, which is really cheap, and id be happy with it if it can run my game good.

Option 1 or 2 should be the only options. Your system's too old for upgrading.

As much I like Intel, option 1 seems to be the best deal.

ok thanks... so they are COMPLETE computers correct? this means I don't have to buy ANYTHING else once put together in order for them to run/work well???

It's a complete tower but you'll need an OS, keyboard, mouse and monitor. I guess you are aware of that?

Have everything but an os.... How much do they cost?

We'll thanks for the info guys, hope the os isn't that expensive because I'm trying to stay cheap

I guess the computer doesn't work without an os right?:rolleyes:
 
I hope you realize that you'll have to actually build these computers. They will just send you the parts and you'll have to assemble it yourself. An OEM copy of Windows 7 or 8 is going to cost 100 dollars.
 
WINE is an emulator (though it actually isn't.. Long story) that allows you to run Windows programs. It won't run like a windows but it'll have the capability.

Plus it's free and open source so it never gets old :)

that looks awesome :) if its free, its for me :D so there isn't any bad disadvantages really? all I really need it for is gaming because I have my old desktop for everything else

I don't know to what extent Wine will run Windows programs so only one way to find out hey? :)

Oh yeah, there's many flavors of Linux so you might like one better than other. Also you can download 'em as live DVDs so you can try before installing.

somebody told me on another forum that its gonna be a real pain in the tokus to get zorin to work with this game, so what other variants are there that would be suitable for running windows based games???

I also heard there was a way to get windows for free by using your old actvation code, and its legal and safe...how?
