At last my new computer has been built and does it fly. First time startup nothing, it didn't work so a strip down to reveal the pins that accept the i7 processor were bent. How it happened I don't know the installation was so careful. I do have a theory though ,on the Asus P8Z77-V motherboard the clamp to hold down the i7 is held down with a knerled screw and spring clip. We didn't loosen off this screw before inserting the i7 processor and that was the trouble I think. Anyway we shall never know. Right where did I get to? oh yes the rebuild, Scan computers would do a replacement motherboard as we took out insurance against installation faults (well worth it with something costing around £130).
So due to home circumstances we had to get another one quickly so went up to a company called OverClockers and bought another board exactly the same. This time the installation and setup perfect.
Sent the original motherboard back to Scan computers to see if I could get my money back and guess what? they sent another new Asus P8Z77-V motherboard which is now spare.
Don't know what I am going to do with it now as I don't want another computer.
