New computer or upgrade

Right now I have having some issues running games on the computer I have. Im not extremely computer savvy so bear with me.

Computer specs are:

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 620 Processor 2.60GHz

Ram: 8.00 GB

System: 64-Bit

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series

Not sure what else to list so please let me know if I need to and I will. I mainly play WoW and am only getting 30 FPS most places on low settings. I'm at a point now where I don't mind upgrading equipment but buying a new gaming computer isn't out of the question. Id say I have between $600-$900 to spend. Id really like to get 50-60 FPS on decent settings.
 
What specific R7 is that?
What motherboard do you have?

The Athlon II line is pretty dated by this point (2009). In large raids you would need something a lot beefier in order to prevent huge FPS drops. On the GPU side if you simply have something like a R7 240 you may be performance limited from both the CPU and GPU.
 
CPU + Motherboard upgrade should set you straight.

Do you know what kind of power supply you have?
