Hey guys, i just got a new computer but i will use the same hard drive im using now on this computer. But what about windows? Will i have to buy a new windows or since i use the same hard drive, windows will work on my new computer ?

( sorry im a little bad in english :3 )

Thank you !

It all depends on what license you had. Was it from an OEM computer such as Dell, HP or was it custom built machine that you used the retail version of windows? If OEM, you won't be able to reuse it. Also, most likely the computer won't boot up, it will either bluescreen or reboot on you. You should do a fresh install of windows since you have new hardware. As long as you have the retail license you can reactivate it.

You will not be able to reuse the OEM license from the HP on the new computer. You will need to purchase a new license. (copy of windows)

Can i run my computer anyway with this windows ? Do i have like a certain amount of time to reactivate it ? Like a trial version or something ?

Like I said before, if you try booting the old install in the new system it most likely won't boot because of different hardware. I believe you will only have 3 days if it boots up to reactivate windows. But it won't reactivate because its an oem license.
