my motherboard has 3 pci slots, and one agp slot. No idea if it is 4x or 8x don't know how to tell. I was wondering if pci cards would be better for gaming. Also My computer is a gateway 310 series and the mother board is only able to support 512mb of sd pc2100 166mhz ram. This is not very good for gaming i assume? should i just get a new motherboard.. I am beyond confused. I was thinking that maybe i should jsut get a new computer

I was thinking of getting a computer from cyberpowerinc.com
probably with an athlon 64 3000
1g of pc 3200 ram
geforce fx 5700 or 6600 (256mb ram)
80gb hard drive
400w power supply
for about 580-680 bucks
i was wondering if that would be abetter investment for gaming than just upgrading my ram to 512 and getting a new video card in my old computer.
Also how do i know which video card are compatible with my motherboard?

many questions i know but i am very confused.

I answered you in Video Cards and Monitors(Pci card, or agp?...). A liitle advice dont post the same thread twice. You not going to get a answer faster. The only thing you might do is piss off the mods and admins.
