Hey everyone, well my mom finally got a new computer the other day. She needed one ASAP so instead of doing a build she went out and got a HP Pavilion p6140f. I remember on here alot of people saying how alot of the computer you get from the stores have alot of stuff on there that takes up space that you don't need. I was wondering what things on there should I look for to delete?

Go to Programs and Features, there you will find mostly all the crap that you don't want on it, to uninstall it. We can't tell you exactly what to uninstall, cause we do not know what type of pointless programs it has on it. If you are unsure of what programs to uninstall, tell us the program name and we'll tell you if it's important or if you should rid it from your system.

Do I do that with a laptop as well? The latop in my sig I haven't deleted anything and been wanting to, but when I go to start I don't see features just default prgrams or the normal programs and I see nothing under features.

For her computer though I will be doing that tonight so when I get to it I willl post up what is listed and see what you guys think.

You should just backup anything you need from both and then format and reinstall windows, fresh and clean without any crapware.

Yes, you do this with new laptops as well. I'm assuming her new laptop has Vista on it? Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features; there you will find all the programs that are currently installed on that computer.
If it's XP, go to Start > Control panel > Uninstall/install programs (I believe that's the title) and it's the same as Vista, uninstall the items you do not want. Don't delete them, cause that will only delete the icon and it won't fully uninstall the program itself.
