New Computer....

Ok, to start off, since I'm new to the forum, I'm not a COMPLETE "n00b" to copmuters. I know what all the parts are, how to put everything together, and most essentials. But like most copmuter enthusiasts, I like to upgrade my computer about every single day... To fix that, I just want to make the all out "best" I can afford (even though that's basically what I say every time). I have most parts that I would like to keep but would consider upgrading also if suggested... I have a X-Dreamer II case with a 500 Watt PSU, Daewoo 17" CRT Monitor, 5.1 Surround Speakers, Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro, Zalman CPU fan, AMD 3500+ CPU (939)...

With that said, here is what I would like to buy:

Motherboard - Gigabyte K8NF

Memory - TwinX 1.0GB Dual Channel PC-3200 CL2 DDR SDRAM Memory

Video Card... this I am debating on saving 100 bucks and goin with this...

e-GeForce 6800 GT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E x16 Video Card with SLI Technology Support
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0184891

or just go all out with this...

eVGA 256-P2-N528-AX Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130234

I am using this for games/music/art, if that will matter much... thanks in advance

Also, this is something I just realized... I don't think my PSU is PCI-e ready... are there converters/adapters, or any other solutions to this? Or is it time to buy a new PSU too.

I currently have an Ultra 500 Watt X-Connect.

for ram get the mushkin redline 4000 or the ocz vx 4000 (2x512)

for mobo get the dfi nf4 ultra

for the vid card the 7800 will be much much much better

for psu get the ocz powerstream 520

Yes but right now, probably not worth the price jump (although i'd also argue the 68GT is overpriced there)
