hi i was going to start making a new computer soon but i have never made one before so i need some help, this is what i was planning on getting for the computer.

intel core 2 extreme processor
asus striker 2 extreme motherboard
evga geforce 9800gx2 graphics card
corsair dominator-gt 6 gb ram
western digital 300gb veloci raptor hard drive
antec 1200 case
antec 1000w power supply
cooler master aquagate max
windows 7 ultimate

im going to be using this computer for mainly gaming and maybe some video editing. would all of this be compatible and work well together? i was also looking at the dual processor motherboards but i couldnt find one that would work with the core 2 extreme. can two of the geforce 9800gx2 graphics cards work or would one be fine? would the antec 200mm radiator work with the aquagate max? any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
 
The CPU and motherboard are previous generation. Unless you're getting them for next to nothing, you'd be much better off getting a more current combo. An i7 920 or an i5 would be faster and cheaper.

Also, with that particular board, it only supports duel channel. Thus getting 3-sticks of RAM would probably decrease performance. But if you get something like an i7, you'd be fine.
 
i7 uses triple channel ram (6GB). If you went with the i5, it just uses duel channel (4GB). I think the i5 is actually slightly faster than the i7.
 
if i get two i7 processors would a tyan s7025 work or should i get one processor and the asus maximus 3 gene or the asus maximus 3 formula

What is your purpose for this incredibly ridiculous build?

No, Core i7 processors will not fit in a Tyan Socket B board.

antec 1000w power supply

and im looking for a new motherboard. i was going to get the asus maximus 3 formula motherboard but someone said i needed to get a x58 chipset motherboard
