My bad, missed it

HP seems to not list the most important parts of computers, although of the three I've taken apart they've all had Asus motherboards.

More likely Foxconn/MSI

yeah all the HP 've owned they all had ASUS mobos.

Yeah lots of OEM boards are ASUS-variants but they also use MSI, Abit, Intel (think i even saw an EPOX) ones too ... one example
