So i'm thinking of buying this computer

  • Case - Thermaltake Dokker Case with HDD Dock Black -$66
  • Power Supply ñ OCZ Fatal1ty 550w Modular - $80
  • Graphics Card ñ Xfx 6850 1gb - $199
  • RAM - G Skill 4G(2x2G) DDR3 1600Mhz PC12800 RL 9-9-9-24(CL9D-4GBRL- $56
  • Motherboard - Asus M4A87TD-USB3 AMD3 4x DDR3/6x Sata Raid/Gigabit Lan - $109
  • Processor - AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3GHz) - AM3, 9MB Cache,125W BD - $260
  • HDD - Samsung 1TB Spinpoint F3 SATA II 7200RPM 32M - $58
  • Cooler ñ Xigmatex S1283 Red Scorpion - $33

What do you think?

Currently I have my mum's 27" iMac, with a 2.66ghz i5 and an ATI Radeon 5850
 
that looks good. What do you plan to use the computer for? Very few programs will actually use all 6 cores of that 1100T. Also, you can overclock a 1090T to 1100T speeds very easily thus saving you some cash.
You may want to wait a few months to get a AM3+ board and a Bulldozer CPU to go in it. Or go with intel Sandybridge and 1155 board. Either way would work for you.
 
I'll be using it for video editing/effects, so After Effects and Premier Pro, 3D stuff like maya, cinema 4D and 3dmax and games. I was thinking of getting the 1090T instead, but when do the AM3+ Boards and Bulldozer processors come out? and won't they be more expensive?

I don't need an optical drive :)

(sorry i'm a noob, first custom built computer)
