New computer

Hello everyone, I need to buy a new computer, the computer im using right now is very old. (1994) But i could use some help. Im getting into 3D Animation and 3D Modeling, and would like a computer designed for 3D Modeling/Animation. Does anyone have a website or any information they can give me to help me choose a new computer?

Anyway, I'd stay away from Dell. I've had some bad luck with them at work. 4/10 machines we've gotten new have had problems. Usally minor, but still those aren't good numbers...

HP in my opinion is always a reliable brand. Though I would suggest getting a place like www.ibuypower.com to build you a pc if you do not want to do it yourself.

If you're only gonna be doing 3D animation and modeling you might want to look at a nice dual core CPU, ATi FireGL or nVidia Quadro video cards and about 1-2Gb of RAM.

I sure have had good luck with my HP. Set it up in about and hour plugged it in and it's been working great. It's been the best system I ever had.

it sounds like ur an art guy so i would go with an apple. they make the best software for designing stuff.
