I've decided that my E4500 just isn't up to scratch. I'm getting a new CPU when i can.
Here are some choices, and what my mobo can support:
(there are more i haven't listed)
E5200 (wolfdale, pentium dualcore)
E5300 (wolfdale, pentium dualcore)
E6300 (Core 2 Duo)
E6400 (Core 2 Duo)
E6700 (Core 2 Duo)
E7300 (Core 2 Duo)
I'm mainly looking for more overall performance. Meaning in games, browsing, general O/S performance and anything else.
I'm looking for higher FSB, more cache, newer design (45nm), and higher frequency than my E4500 has.
It's specs:
2.2ghz
65nm
2mb cache
800fsb
You'll notice that what i have listed all have 1066mhz fsb, more than 2mb cache and higher or equal frequency.
My board cannot support quadcores. Out of those processors, which would the best bang for buck? I need something a little cheaper but able to outperform my E4500 by a fair, noticeable amount. :good:
