New CPU

Okay, my mom wants me to upgrade her computer and it really needs this, I have this: Pentium D 945, in mind because it seems to be the best CPU that this computer's motherboard can take. First, is that a decent CPU? She doesn't game or anything like that. Second, I can only find OEM so what's a cheap cooler you would reccomend?

Thanks in advance

Ebay is an option, too. Probably find good deals there. I'd look for a new one though as opposed to used, but that's just my personal preference.

I 've had several friends buy from NewBiz and neither has had any complaints. Both said they got good service and product. Hope this info helps.

thats a decent processor.. i'd suggest the arctic freezer processor cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186134

its slightly better than the stock cooler, and it directs airflow towards the back of the case.. and its cheap.

what processor do you currently use, and what type and size of ram? ram is normally a cheaper easier to install upgrade. just make sure that if you do upgrade the CPU, make sure you know how to clean the heatsink and apply the new thermal paste. i suggest arctic silver 5.

Oh yeah, I have loads of as5 :P. This is my mom's computer, so it kind of sucks. It has 2gigs of ram which is the MB's max and the CPU is a celeron 3.52. And it really has no need for a really good cooler, just something that performs like a stock cooler (it's oem) she won't be gaming or overclocking or anything like that.
