We are talking primarily about Socket 939 models for a 939 board. But if I decide on a AM2 board instead of waiting for a AM3 I'll just have to oc the crap out of an FX62. How's that sound?

Thats very nice but i always wanted dual core.Dual Core is great but only if you make games and that stuff.

dual core is amazing. first off, 2.0ghz single core (athlon 64) is enough for most games out today, and if they ever require more than that then the company will optimize it for dual core. i dont think even at X2 at 2ghz is worth upgrading. maybe overclock it to 2.2ghz or 2.4ghz, that ought to be fast enough for now.
i mean, i sold my old rig for a grand and built a new one for $991 so i actually saved 9 bucks.
lol ill put that 9 bucks toward a directX 10 card when they become affordable, and when games begin supporting it...
either that or toward neverwinter nights 2 lol
