I'm having tough time pickin out the right parts fot my ultimate gamming system, and wondering if anyone can help me find what im looking for for compatable parts and performance.

I want a Pentium 4 Core 2 Quad - If this is good for gaming.
DDR3 memory - if good for gaming.
motherbord that supports P4 Quad core and DDR3 memory and supports SLI, as well as having 2 PCI-Express 16x slots or PCI 2.0 wich ever is better.
Id like a Geforce 8800GT x2 for Sli

thats about it for now, I dunno which motherbord can support all them, but some help would be great thx! =]

No such thing as a Pentium 4 quad-core (I assume that's what you mean by P4?) Intel modern CPU's are Core 2's, so if you want quad-core you'll be looking at a Core 2 Quad...on Jan. 20th Intel releases the majority if not all of their new 45nm CPU's, included are some new quad-cores so if you're going to be building a system wait a few days before typing up a parts list or ordering anything.

ok, I modified my post, lemme know what motherboard suports all of them plz, id hate to order the parts and find out motherbord dont support 1 or more of the parts. thx =]

I just want top gaming machine with best everythnig.

tech nothing, its just not to the point that its worth getting yet, if you get the ddr2 800 you will be able to do everything that you want, ddr3 will be the next generation of ram, but from everything i have heard, its not worth spending the extra cash on right now, put the cash into other things that will help your computer, mainly cpu, gpu, hdd

whats wrong with ddr3?

DDR3 has not really come around yet. DDR2-800 is currently the standard of all computers. DDR3 is also much more expensive, and although it has far superior speed, the latencies are much too high, and a tiny bit more performance for around 10x the price is NOT worth it.

hmmmm ok, so can anyone find me a good gaming motherboard that supports P4 core 2 quad with 2 pci express 16x slots and supports Sli and what ddr2 memory will i need?

Once again, no such thing as a Pentium 4 Core 2 Quad. What you want is one of the new 45nm Quad core CPUs that come out very soon.

Talk about expensive!

Do NOT get that case! Look at the Antec 900. $350 for a CASE is outrageous!

SLi is trash too. Just get one 8800 and live with it, then own everybody and get a 9800 ;)

The Antec 900 is $74.48 at SecureMart. Newegg after rebates? $79.99.
I was talking normal prices without bothering to check...and i got it for $50 AR just 2 weeks ago. (love it btw...great case. and actually it has prebuilt holes for an external water cooling system...i'm not sure if the pictures on newegg show this or not, but that might be a good choice for you)
