i went by fry's electronics today because i was thinking of purchasing a brand new desk top since my old one cant handle battle field 2. the worker there suggest me this http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4650538 and told me that the computer would run bf2 no problem. i dont know much about computers and i dont want to drop down 1800 on a desktop without being 100% sure that itll be ok. so i was wondering if it can handle it or not. thanks

is building your own out of the question? im sure you can get a better computer for less money.

also that has onboard video which i wouldnt recommend if you want to play BF2.

Dont waste your money buying that machine. The salesman doesn't know crap, recommending you an onboard video knowing you want to play BF2, He should be kicked in his sack for that, hehe.

Anyway go here and check some puters out .

really? thanks for the input. what would u guys suggest from monarchcomputer.com. i kinda want something thatll last me for a while. my budgets about 1500.

$1500 is a very reasonable budget. But I suggest building your own. You'll get way more for your money -- atleast in most cases.

Nice list, but unless you're planning on overclocking the X2 4200+ would be a better choice, although slightly more expensive.

very nice but thier is still room for a better CPU like a 4200 or an opty 145, also you forgot optical drives. and case but thats up to ootuoykcuhp21.

@ootuoykcuhp21: what liquid showed is way way better than the Fry's comp, would last year a few years, and play anygame you want :)

That is a positively outright ripofff! OMFC.

Consider this
Comparatively crushing performance, stock and overclocked.

ootuoykcuhp21 just to clearify since you admitly know nothing about computer why Praetor's computer is about 500X better for gaming.

The $1800 one uses intergrated graphics. this is lowest of the lows for graphic cards. battlefield2 would not run very good on it.

Praetor computer uses a x1900XT this is the highest of the highes for video card at the momment. money cant buy you a better video card for gaming(well except x1900XTX but that a waste of money)

Praetor computer will easily triple the performance in most games of the other computer.

Of course with mine you'd need to buy the OS but there's plenty of money left over to do that, not to mention the raw fact the box i specd will destroy that fry's box
