I made it on compaq.com

I wasn't sure if I should go for the qaudcore or the AMD or just dual core. Also I don't know which OS to use the 32 bit or the 64 bit.
If any suggestions or better computers my budget is a firm 1200. This computer is only costing me 1059 because of a 400 dollar coupon.

I would get a 8600gt if i were you, since the 8500 is very low for gaming unless you weren't planning to play anything 3D like

Get the 32 bit program, It's more stable with different types of hardware.

I agree with chupacabra, upgrade to the 8600.

Is there a reason why you don't want to build your own system? You would get better parts for around the same price, or even cheaper if you built it yourself.

In my opinion compaq is the worst builder of them all. If you have to buy a prebuilt, Get a ((I can't believe I am going to say this) Dell or a cough, cough, HP.

And yes I know about HP and compaq. But Hp does not put as much into the compaq as they do their Name brand systems. Compaq are cheap HP's

Good joke

The joke is on anyone that buys either a Dell Or a HP. A sick joke!

Because either way you have spent big $ on a system you can not upgrade. And that does not give you an OS disk, but instead gives you a repair disk that is pretty much worthless.

The only time I would run either of them was if I had a large company that needed a server with same day tech support. But using them as a desktop system? No Freakin way!
