New Drivers giving me stop error?

ok just got my new card and works good with the drivers off the cd..but if i go and try to get the latest update and install it..when i restart i keep getting the blue screen of death.i wish i could remmber the code but i dont wanna try again .any ideas what could be going on? .because ive tried it twice once from BFG AND once from Nvidia website any help would be great thanks in advance..

I'm not sure if we have the same problem but i had an Oc 8800gts and got those errors too I use Ati Tools to Under clock my card to 500/850 and i havnt seen any problems since could just be me tho.

well we do have the same mobo and cpu's are close..wonder what the problem could be...hmmmmm
 
I dunno but this is shitting me, the problem just arose again i think it could be the power supply not too sure atm
 
hey mate,
heres a quik fix for you, I downloaded Ntune (some say its bad) and Underclocked my gpu to 510/850 from 580/900 and it SEEMS to be running all games fine hasnt crashed yet. If you'd like some help in how to do this just gimme a buzz. hopefully they release a fix for our issue, shouldnt have to UC our systems for it to run stable.
 
I had the same problem with the new drivers and was told by Nvidia to 1st uninstall current drivers in safemode 2nd use drive cleaner to clean up anything left and the install new drivers. After going through these processes everything worked for me. You can download drive cleaner here(http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745 ) hope this helps .
 
ok trying it again so do i do the uninstall and install via safe mode, also in driver cleaner do i just clean "nvidia drivers"?
 
Success :D i did all steps this time in safe mode and i ran 3dmark06 and no errors whats so ever :d also i scored my highest lol 9186

there is another driver that will give you a better score its called NG0 Nvidia Optimized Driver v1.16218..i found that on www.pcpcstop.com my score is better with this one...its made for people having trouble like us...try it if you want..use the same safe mode steps and it will work....
