New External Hard Rive Problem

I have a new external hard drive that when I plugged into my machine it designated it as drive F. My prior external hard drive was designated as X. I have several programs that are run looking for drive X not drive F. Do you know how I change the hard drive designation?

You might be able to change the drive lettering in the properties, otherwise possibly create a mapping to the drive, and specify the letter you want.
