New gaming laptop

I've been thinking about buying a nice gaming laptop, and I just wanted some input as to what some of you think of this:

Dell Inspiron E1705
Core 2 Duo T7200 / 2Ghz / 4MB L2 Cache / 667FSB
Windows XP MCE 2005 w/ Free Vista Upgrade
17" Ultrasharp Wide UXGA+ w/ TrueLife
1GB DDR2-533 Dual Channel
120GB 5400RPM SATA
8x DVD+/-RW Burner
256MB 7900GS
Sound Blaster Audigy HD
9-Cell Battery
802.11 b/g

$1,548

If I did get this, I may lower some parts to get the price lower. Remember, I most likely wont end up buying this, I just want to see what you think.

Also note that I highly doubt i'll buy this, every few hours I want a laptop, then I dont. But I still want to see what you guys think :)

It's an insane price for an extra gaming machine in my opinion. It's also something you cannot return and you would have to rely on ebay to get rid of it because I know you would regret it.

haha, I know I would. The only times I can see myself really wanting one is when I go on vacation next month, since I will have many hours on the plane, airport, and when were not doing anything in the hotel. And also when I go on long car rides to Mass.

But besides that, I really cant see myself wanting one so bad.

what i think eh? i think...............its nice. :D but seriously are a you willing to spend that much money when you already have a great gaming pc? y not just buy a good quick laptop for half that price like the one that Ku-sama pointed out...

Maybe you could get a lower end laptop (if you do get one at all), that will play games on lower settings? Personally, you already have an uber gaming comptuer, and to have two is a bit of an overkill.

And I decided not to buy any laptop, as its a waste of money for me. From now on, whenever I make a thread like this I want you guys to tell my how bad of a deal it is :)

Congratulations! :). Glad you made the decision to not get one :D.

Thats not good gaming wise, and Acers tend to have 4-Cell batteries, which only last 1-2 hours at best.

Power: 6-cell Li-ion battery and AC adapter

4-cell, eh?

and yeah, its not the best at gaming, but it will play them...

All the lower end models come with 4 cells, lol.

And what games do you hope to play on there? Nothing more recent then CS CZ I hope.

According to benchmarks, the ATI x1100 performs worse then the GMA950 and ATI 200M.
