New gaming PC build - Check It

Hi, I am going to be building my first PC soon, for gaming. I had planned to keep my budget within $1000 and $1500. Here it is.

CASE: Cooler Master HAF 932 $179

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO AM3 $189
USB3 AMD Motherboard

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.2 Ghz Black $189
Edition

GPU: 2X Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 $179 ($385 total)

RAM: Corsair 8GB (4X2GB) 1333 DDR3 $129 ($258 total)

HDD: Western Digital 500GB $72

PSU: Corsair TX-750 W $148

CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper N620 $79

WIRELESS: Basic wireless PCI adapter $29

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit $119

$1312 - 4GB(2X2GB) RAM, 1X GPU - Primary build I will add to.
$1620 - Full Build (These are in Australian Dollars by the way.)

Nice system you will be very happy with it. The only thing i can suggest is to look at a radeon 5870 instead of x2 5770 i know its a bit more expensive but i have nothing but good things to say about my 5870.
 
Thanks for the reply :). That's a very nice graphics card you suggested, but could be a little pricy, as I have already gone over my budget hehe. A question, is that 5870 2 graphics cards in one? If i saved up could I eventually install 2 of them in Crossfire? Also, it doesn't say if it uses more Watts, do you think I would need a better PSU to run them?

Did a rough calculation and think the 750W PSU for 5870 in crossfire would be just enough. Lol you can tell I like to think ahead, i'de have to win the lotto to get 'em. Would still like some feedback if possible.

No, the 5870 is only one graphic card, not two in one. Also the power supply you want to buy will be enough for the 5870. :)
 
Ok cool :), god its a beast for 1 graphics card haha. What PSU would I need two have 2 in crossfire though? Because I will be buying the PSU first, and I like to keep my options open. Would the rest of my system be able to handle the two beasties? Sorry i've never built a computer before.. so many questions.
 
Yeah i have the same PSU as you are thinking about getting and it will run 2 Ati HD 5870s no trouble. But if you are looking at buying 2 5870s you are better off just getting one 5970 :P lol so many options

True. One 5970 is two 5870's downclocked. You will save money if you get one 5970 instead of two 5870's. The PSU should be fine.
 
Thanks heaps for the responses guys :). I think ill just stick with one 5870 for the time being. How much FPS do you think I would get in say.. Modern Warfare 2, or World of Warcraft on full graphics with the rest of my system components?

On this i cant help you but you would max out those games. :) Wait for other responses though.

with modern warfare 2 you should definitely see 60 fps (although that might depend on the AA and resolution). not entirely sure about wow but you should definitely see decent frames there as well.

yeah i would just stick with one 5870 now and get another later if you want (or sell it and get a better single card).
 
60 is higher than I was expecting :). Sounds great, thanks for the reply joh06937. Also a question, I looked at your gaming rig below your comment it says GPU: HD 5970 and an 8800GT for Physx. How are you running an ATI card and a nVidia card?

since nvidia doesn't support running with an ati card (but ati does support running with an nvidia card) you have to either hack nvidia drivers or use the 257.15 drivers in which nvidia forgot to include the thing that didn't allow ati+nvidia.
