Hey Doug here, I've got a compaq nothing new/special but i've put a lot of parts in it made it a sleeper. I got 640mb ram, 80GB Seagate Barracuda HD, Linux Kubuntu and XP Pro, Samsung combo drive, Megavision 15.4'' LCD, and the new goodies are an ASUS Extreme N6200TC GEFORCE 6200 TURBO CACHE, and a new 6 port USB 2.0 and 2 port firewire card. So now the computer has 12 usb ports, and 2 firewire.

Sorry if the post sucks im young, going to college next fall and this computer is just holding me over untill i get my new laptop and desktop.

I don't see any question but... the video card is seriously outdated. Turbocache will only steal RAM from your computer...
 
You guys really are a horrible community. VWvortex (car forums for all you guys who live in you mom's basement and don't drive) has a better computer forum

lol you'll have to forgive everyone else for their rudeness. they don't mean any harm, they just don't know how to say nicely that your is outdated. it's okay we all have to made do with what we have for the time being. It all looks pretty good to me for your needs.

^^^ Agreed, they're classic, built well, luxurious, and i really like the car. What do you have taht puts a VW to shame?
 
luxurious? I think the point of VW is that they AREN'T luxurious. At all. But still not a bad car.

I think it's just awkward that your first post here was you telling about your so-so computer on a new thread. Not a bad thing but just weird I guess.

I also like my 6200.

@Everyone; its ok to start a thread without having a question, dougland just wanted to show people what he has and was throwing it out there. You dont need to slap him down just because he didnt ask a question.

your expectation needs to change, user can post none question based threads in here provided they are on the topic of the section. How many thread have we seen saying "check out the new intel cpu", or "check out the prices at xyz.com", or "M$ in trouble..." all these threads dont pose questions but are valid contributions.
