New GPU Purchase

Hello :)

I need help in purchasing a video card. This area in computers is not one of my strengths. My budget is roughly $100 (USD), and it needs to be a PCI Express card. I (will) use the computer for school and little gaming. I probably don't even need to spend $100 on this, but when I play games I do not want to experiece much lag. I likely won't be playing any of the new games that are out, just some mild gaming every now and then. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Even a 6600gt costs $169. SO the best you could probably do is a x700, which isn't the best, but it'lll do. Since you won't be playing any of the new games, i'd assume you won't be playing anything thus far requiring SM 3.0 and in the future should you need it, you can upgrade a new gfx card and probably at the same time psu, because most require higher than 6600gt. Here is a good choice.

costs $103

The x700 looks like a good card. 128mb of memory should be fine for what I need. How does the x700 compare to other cards in that price range?
