New GPU.

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU from my current Geforce 8600 GT, but I just can't make a decision. I'm trying to get ready for the upcoming release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. They're recommended GPU is the Geforce 260 GTX which has decent benchmark performance from what I can tell, but I was also looking at a Radeon HD 5770 for the DX 11 support. What do you guys think? My rig is in my sig. :D

5770 would be better than a gtx260. i would go with a 4890, its an amazing card, and its not too expensive

Fourth.

I've heard that overclocking a gtx 260 core 216 to a certain degree will yield performance similar to a gtx 280? Is this true?

i read some good things about the 5000 series, plus id say dx11 support will probably be worth it for the future

Sixth, i did it. DX11 is worth getting and the 5770 will smash any game on standard resolutions. Make sure you keep an eye on the PSU output air temp. Great PSU, but its MTFB is measured at 25oC not 40oC as top notch PSUs. This means any warmer weather could kill it. Plenty of grunt with 50A, but heat is its enemy.
