I am selling the 560TIs for a single GPU that will run all three monitors. I don't really want to upgrade again for a while. I am looking at a 780 3gb so far about I am wondering if I'll run into VRAM issues with 3gb or would it be smarter to get a 4gb 770?
 
Good question re the 3GB 780 vs the 4GB 770.

Obviously the extra gig on the 770 might be a benefit if you're running at high resolutions, but the 3GB on the 780 should be OK I think.

The 780 is a more powerful GPU than the 770 and by quite a significant margin too, I believe.

I'd get the 780.

That's what I was leaning towards. Based on the same architecture as the Titan for under $500. I have been seeing that BF4 uses anywhere between 2.2-2.7gb of VRAM in game. I think that for most games I will not have the performance needed for the better graphics that will require more than 3gb of VRAM. in the near future.

Just so people know, I am not gaming on all 3 monitors. PLP isn't supported in surround or eyefinity :( so it is just one 2560x1600 display that I need to worry about.
 
What about the R9 290 4GB? It should offer about the same performance as a GTX780, but the 1GB extra vram could benefit in higher resolutions.
 
Not sure if they use the same drivers or not but I'm pretty sure I'm using the latest drivers with my HD 5870 and they're OK. I don't know if the new R7 and R9 GPUs use different drivers though.

I think a single 780 with 3GB of RAM should be fine for 2560x1600.
 
The beta drivers were just updated to include the new series. Still pretty shakey from what I heard. Too bad. I do like the R9 series... but I do spend most of my days in Ubuntu anyway.
 
At 2560x1600 it will be a long time before you max the 3GB VRAM. Ultra BF4 (everything turned full) at 5760 x 1080 uses slightly less than 3GB VRAM and that resolution has 35% more requirement. So if you're only gaming at 2560 x 1600 you could probably get away with 2GB if you had too, but these days thats not necessary.

So, go for the fastest processor and memory bandwidth card you can afford with 3GB+ VRAM.
