I just installed a new PNY GeForce 9800GT 1gb PCIe 2.0 card. I am getting no signal to the monitor. I had before an EVGA 9500GT 512mb PCIe 2.0, but it died after three weeks, got a second and it was either DOA or something else, but no signal to the monitor at all. EVGA said those cards have problems, so I got the PNY.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe the PNY and possibly the others were not getting enough power. MY psu is a Thermaltake Xaser II Silent Purepower 480W. The 12v rail is 18A. After getting home I saw that the 9800GT says a minimum 12v with 26A.
Would this be the cause of no signal? Do I simply need to just upgrade the psu?
My system, Win XP SP3, Athlon 64 3800, 3GB RAM, Motherboard is an MSI K8NGM2 w/ PCIe 1.0. Monitor is a 22" Chimei LCD. Right now I had to put my 6600 card in for graphics.
Thanks.
