New Graphics Card???

Looking for a new graphics card. advice?? my current setup is AGP is it worth upgrading my pc for a PCX graphics card??? i was looking at a 6800GS for AGP and a 7800GT for PCX... what you think?

i would wait before upgrading. Try waiting till second half of 2006 when Windows Vista comes out. Because it will then have directx 10. But if don't have the patience then i would go with the 6800 for now.

how much money do you want to spend, what do you want to play with the new graphics and what's the specs to the rest of your system?
 
about £160 for the Graphics card...

Looking to Upgrade my CPU to a 144 Opty and overclock it. some Crucial PC4000 RAM and the Thermaltake VB5001SNA case with water cooling and my board is a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum

currently running a AMD 64 3500+, 1GB Twinmos ram 3200

You seem to forget Microsoft have this joyous habit of delaying thier release's... for all we know it could be released second half of 2007 instead.
Also I don't see the point considering it's succesor Windows Vienna (or Blackcomb) will be released about 2/3 years after Vista but still, I might just be happy with XP who knows.

Well I would suggest you go with a radeon,. something in the 6000 to 7000 range
 
I think the GF 6800GS is very good choice now because this is very good card
(it very good overlock), probably you can play a lot of gamce with high details and for far time the dx10
will go for use and all nowadays card not supportet this :P

Which is perfectly fine for gaming. :)

As for the graphics, try and find a 6800GT, they are very powerful cards and the best you can get if your running a motherboard with the AGP interface.
