New Hard Drive; Now Boot Problems?

Hey everybody, just installed a 1TB Hard Drive moments ago via 6.0 Sata port.

Before I start, specs:
P8P67 Motherboard. (Regular, not Pro)
1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 (newly installed, causing the problem)
Older 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.

Now, when I boot up the computer, I get the "Please insert proper boot drive" error.
I went into the boot settings in the UEFI and only my NEW hard drive, and the optical drive, are being detected.
The old one is nowhere to be found, so obviously, my computer cannot boot because it is not recognizing the old hard drive, which has my OS installed.

My motherboard only has two 6.0 Sata ports, the rest are 3.0.
When I plugged in my new one, I figured I would make use of the 6.0 Sata port left over, which is directly ABOVE where my old Hard Drive was plugged in to.

Is that the cause of the problem? Do I simply need to switch them around?
However, why isn't my old hard drive showing up; shouldn't they both show up? Especially since I didn't even touch my old hard drive whatsoever.

Do I need to move the new hard drive over to the 3.0 satas? (I'd really rather not...I need the maximum transfer speed I can get out of this)

Thanks a million to whoever can help!

Stick it on a 3.0 port, unless it's actually a 6.0GB/s drive. You won't get 6.0GB/s unless it is a 6.0GB/s drive.

And also just double check the hard drive priority settings in the BIOS.

You might have bumped a cable loose when inserting the other drive. Double check all cables. Disconnect the new drive to see if the old one is recognized again. If not, then you seem to have a loose cable somewhere.

It's a 6.0GB/s drive, not a 3.0. So what should I do, given that info?

New Drive

Old Drive
Motherboard

Should I just switch the two ports around? The thing is, if I do that, then won't the new hard drive not be detected?
Also, I find it strange that earlier, my first hard drive was just fine in the second port alone; but now that there is something in the first port above it, it no longer is being recognized.
Also, double-checked the settings, it still only detects the new drive and optical drive, not the old one.

*edit*
Double checking the cables now...will update with how that turns out in 5 min.

Both of the drives you linked to are 6.0. Check to make sure the old drive is spinning up. You got to have a loose cable. It doesn't matter what port you use, they should all detect the drives.

Hooray!

I can't believe it really was that simple; but you're right, I just happened to have a cable loose. I must have somehow knocked out the original hard drive cable from the Sata port when I was plugging in the new one.
(I had no more than an inch to work with because my video card was in the way the entire time; didn't want to have to unscrew that, but I did anyway when I checked all the wires)

The new Hard Drive is formatting right now. (And it's taking quite awhile, strangely. The video I watched formatted their drive almost instantly for the same size drive, but here it's been roughly 5 minutes and I'm only on 4%...is that a bad sign?)

Additionally, when I was in the UEFI (bios), I had to manually boot it from the second hard drive, because it was still only auto-detecting the new drive and the optical drive. Everything showed up fine in the Advanced settings, but in the "EZ Mode" settings, the old drive was not listed in the boot priority menu. As I said, I have to manually go to the boot settings and boot from the old drive.
Will this be a problem? Or will it be listed in the future because I manually booted it?

Thanks so much!

Most likely the video you saw they did a quick format which really takes only seconds. You are doing a full format which will take a while. Go into the bios and change the first boot hard drive to the correct one.
