New Hard Drive now what?

OK well I successfully installed a new hard drive (and im pumped i did it, first time really working with the computers internals) it is a 60 GB IDE hard drive which is completely empty, my master drive is a 20 GB IDE drive which is currently filled up. Im thinking about putting all the files from the 20 GB to the 60 GB and making the 60 GB the master while the 20 GB would be the slave. Is there any precautions i would have to take, and also how would I accomplish this.
Keep in mind working on a very limited budget and my computer is quite old. I have about 308 MB of RAM and an AMD Duron processor @ 1200 MHz. Also im running Windows XP.

First things first.
Remove the 20GB from your PC. Put the 60gb as master and install windows (partition it like 40/20 or 30/30.)
when done put the 20gb as slave and put it in the pc, make sure your PC boots from the 60 as both of them has XP booloader.
now from windows simply copy data from the 20gb to the second partition of the 60 and when all transfer is complete, do a full format on the 20 so as to remove the bootloader !!

cheers
