New hard drive

How are you going to use this new hard drive? Is it going into your computer as an internal bigger main drive or are you going to use it as a secondary storage drive. To be honest the best, and possibly easiest, way to go would be to have some sort of external storage or network attached storage, (NAS). A three terrabyte drive will not make a huge difference to you storage capabilities as such. Videos are big files and you will soon fill a 3Tb drive just like you have filled up your 2 Tb drive. you also need alternative storage arrangments for your files so that they are backed up properly. That way if you get a hard drive crash you still have your huge amount of work, making and rendering videos, stored somewhere else. Nothing wrong with that hard drive incidentally it just depends on how you are going to use it.

With something like videos that you keep on your hard drive, you might want to buy two 3 TB drives and use RAID 1. If you have a motherboard manual, it should help you on how to set that up.
