It's hard to tell if you'd have SATA from your specs(I don't know Dell's too well) but you will have IDE. Besides, for storage, there probably won't be a noticable difference either way...

Anyways, I'd go with some Seagate if I were upgrading my drives. From what I've found, Western Digital's tend to be the fastest, Seagates tend to be the most reliable. I currently have an external 80G Segate that I got used(it was part of a RAID in a video computer) then used it in my main system for about 6 months, then switched it to this case for my new computer. I have yet to have any problems out of it, and I've even dropped it once while it was spinning!

Now, all drives can have their lemons. I've gone though about 6 Maxtor 30G and 40G drives! They just keep failing(but they did replace them) Obviously, I stay away from them now, but some people like them. Your choice...

i am probably gonna go with a seagate or western digital, i found a good one on zipzoomfly.com. But is there anyway to tell if i have SATA like with cpu-z or do i have to look inside myself?

I found this one for a good price but its ATA and i dont know if that wat i have

its a skinny black one with a blue cable goin directly to the mobo. So that is ATA and where would i plug in my second hard drive, i know where to put it but i dont know where the cables would go. Do all mobos support 2 hard drives or does that not matter?
