I thought my HDD was shot so I went and picked up a new 250gb HDD for my ACER 5520. When I got home I tried booting the, It comes up with

NVIDIA Boot Agen 249.0542
Copyright (C) 2001-2005 NVIDIA Corporation
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent.

It keeps repeating through that process.
It's after the Acer screen so I can get to the F2 menu but I have no clue what to try.

That only means that you have the lan set in the boot sequence and need to disable it. The boot order should be set like this.

first boot device = cdrom
second boot device = hdd
third boot device = disabled

Does the bios detect the HDD?

Yeah the bios detects my new HDD but it didn't detect my old one. I'll try the when I get the PC put back together... Half apart now:)

I put my old HDD back in and it read "disc read error, press CTRL+ALT+DLT to restart" or something along that line. With the old HDD in I could hit the ALT+F10(3) combo go to the page that allows you to restore to factory or load from disc.
With new hard drive it won't do anything with the ALT+F10 combo and when it gets passed the acer screen it goes to black screen with a blinking cursor... not sure what's going on yet.
