new i5 cpu better than i7 cpu???

It isn't. It is damned close and in some cases equal, but not better. On the other hand its price point is much more appealing and may outweigh the slight decrease in performance for many.

What price is it going to sell for?

I haven't seen anywhere where a price has even been rumored. It has been rumored to come in less than the i7 series - but Intel has already decided to stop selling the 920 - so when the i5 comes out - and the 920 stops being sold - an i5 could sell at $279 and still be priced below the i7 CPU's - b/c the $279.00 CPU will no longer be available.
