Compequip

New Member
I plan on building another comp. by the end of the year this is what I have so far. https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=12176852

I haven't selected a GPU yet because I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the 4870 X 2 for the build or get a 5850. Also for the CPU cooler I'm going with the Prolimatech-Megahalms. Any other suggestion as of now would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking of getting everything right after thanksgiving hopefully get some black friday deals. I now this is a little premature but I wanna make sure I get everything down right...

I have to wait until tomorrow to share my list with you guys.... Taken a while, it's still securd...

Yeah I no, wow it's taking newegg a long time for public view list. I did this yesterday and it's still not available for viewing. If you look there the last view list are on 10/16/09 not the 17th or 18th yet???? There behind maybe there new corporate ways???

Perhaps you have a copy of XP lying around your place? I would advise against purchasing a copy of Vista because 7 is coming out here shortly, which is leaps and bounds ahead of Vista. Or, I'd create a DVD of the Windows 7 RC and just use 7 from the get go. Up to you though, just a suggestion.

Id go with this thermal paste:

Those thermalright fans arent worth it, either go with a high speed scythe slipstream or a coolermaster r4.

Your memory link is no ggod, has been deactivated.

Thanks, didn't see it wasn't sata.

I was looking at the scythe, but the thermalright fan should better cfm.

Did no there was that much difference in paste :D

Thanks for the input

Yeah I have a copy of xp. I put vista because this is available now, plus you get free upgrade. I'm going to build this system after window 7 becomes available. I'll check my build one last time next month...

Wait for 5850
OS - Get Windows 7 Pro, it have vitrual XP such that you can run old XP programme on that avoiding dual boot.

Thermalright fans are overpriced, louder than the scythe, and 2cfm better, but lower static pressure. Static pressure is more important than cfm to an extent, and id go with the high speed slipstreams on the megahalems.
