New Job / Parts upgrade.... Opinions and Suggestions

So I haven't been on the forums for a while, But I recently got a new job doing graphic design. So I have a few system upgrade questions...

My specs are:
Mobo: MSI 870-G54
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 BE
Ram: Adata Gaming series 2GB
Hard drive: WD 750GB
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT120
Power Supply: OCZ 500W
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64...

Here are the parts I want to upgrade, in order to promote workflow smoothness and production. I will be working with pretty much all of Autodesk, and Adobe CS5.... (looking for feed back on this list)
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103913

CPU Heatsink: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103055

Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231442

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130693

And I need help determining a hard drive, I need at LEAST 200GB for JUST 1 Realflow project. (Realflow simulates water and other liquids, commonly oceans)...
I am thinking of running a raid setup, mainly for Hard Drive fail safe.
So question is what would be the best brand of Hard drive that you guys would suggest

that would be better, but like i said, your mobo only has 1 x16 and the other although it is a x16 size it runs at x4, so performance on the 570 will be held back, but i don't know by how much or if it will make the 690 better or worse than these 2. and unless you plan to order the psu today to get that 15% off, then i'd grab this psu for a little more, it is semi-modular and also has a gold rating, so it's pretty good value compared to others

That is what I meant to choose for the CPU :p I don't know why I clicked the other one....

The PSU: I just wanted to make sure the PSU was enough to support everything ;) but I suppose that this one will work too :)

The Video Card: The only reason I chose that EVGA was because my mobo only supports Express PCI x16 2.0....

BUT maybe 2 of these?: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130687&Tpk=570

A x16 2.1 card will work in your MoBo, but your MoBo isn't that good for a 2 card setup. I would get a single 580 if I had the money.

16GB is overkill. Here are some great RAM.

You'll never use over 8GB.

Naw I am waiting till tomorrow when I get paid unfortunately :( Plus I also have to balance this and getting the BMW fixed :/ If I want to kinda skimp, I can get away with just 1 570 until I get the money to get another mobo...

But then when I get another mobo Imma go extreme over kill and get something like this

And with this as a processor :/

I know it is unneeded, but it would be awesome.... That plan is something that I am going to save for a rainy day, because it is so overkill lol :p

Otherwise I don't plan on getting another mobo until Either this one takes a crap or until I have that much just chillin some where, but if this one does take a crap Imma probably just upgrade to a newer model of MSI, I REALLY like this mobo... :/

I need the 16GB for rendering my animations and such :/ Plus working with realflow using 5 million particles on a small scale project will use most of it... Just transferring 198GB of stuff the other day on a comp with 6GB while running the internet used 5.79GB of ram running windows 7 home premium <.<

I could work with this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130587

I talked to some of the tech guy's that work for pixar the other day :/ and they told me that most of their computers run 32GB of ram....

i mean if you can and don't mind then all the power to you and your 590/6990, but it is very overkill even for the most demanding projects. you might actually get more usage out of something like a firepro v7900 workstation card, they are made to and come with tech that off-loads some of the work from the cpu to the gpu which is made to handle things like this better, supposedly making it faster, i'm not sure exactly if the program you're using can do this or any of that stuff, but that's the basic idea of those cards. and if you're aiming for a system like that then you'd want to do that on a sandy-bridge-e 6 core, and see if they have dual sockets for them.

Maya is the best 3D software around, as well as the rest of Autodesk... Cost 4K for the license to Maya 2012 alone, then I also have Auto CAD, Revit Architecture,..... Im not writing all of it out <.< If you are interested

I also work with Renderman, (Pixar uses this to render their movies), RealFlow 2012, Poser 8, Ray Dream Studios, ect. ect... Anyhow, I am going to look into the work station card.... I was also considering on my way home to switch to the intel core i7 from AMD.... My GF who is in the web design department has a brand new icore i3 that runs pretty good.... But for now I am going to stick with AMD :) I will explain more tomorrow I have to go for now :/

Ok so between the 3K it costed to fix my car and this computer I am going to die <.< But I got the CPU and Ram ordered... I cant wait for their arrival :D

sad to say that is all I can afford ATM... the car cost a LOT more than I wanted it to <.<

SWEET! The parts have finally arrived, now only if I was at home to use them <.< I now hate work... Until I get home :D
