New laptop hard drive Query

I have a IBM thinkpad T60 1951F5G with a 70/80GB hard drive, but I want to replace it with a 320GB drive. I'm currently running XP Pro but I'm intending to run 7 on it. I've checked and I have beyond the minimum spec but the problem is how can I retain all the thinkvantage software such as the fingerprint scanner drivers, system information interface containing my warranty information Etc and also gain all drivers for sound/ wireless.

No. Windows 7 require clean installation from XP. so you out of luck there. However what you can do is after clone the harddrive, you can repart the new harddrive to make it dual boot with windows 7 so you still have all the factory configuration if you need them.

Cheers.

When you clone it. the computer will work on xp, then you can take time to find out if the old hardware support windows 7. you do know some hardware don't have windows 7 drivers. so it is depend on what you encounter. You can do a windows 7 compartable check to see if your computer can support windows 7.
Cheers
