Looking for a new laptop, for my girlfriend. She does basic stuff, pictures mostly, email and homework. No gaming, or Facebook. She is not looking to spend alot of money, just needs a new one for everyday use. Perferably not Dell, looking more at HP laptops. But, list whatever kind you think is best. Also, she has been looking at Mini Laptops, input? She was looking at colorful ones.

ok. Dell is a good brand. HP sucks as far as quality goes.
Mini laptops are not good to do homework on, and I am making that comment from experience. Sometimes when I am doing homework, I run out of space on my 15" screen, so have to run 2 screens. If she has windows 7, I think it would be a little more user friendly at setting up screen space than 2000 and ubuntu is.
