New Laptop Opinions?

Hey all, I recently discovered I have a good chunk of money in a bank account from inheritance and I need a new laptop before college so I was wanting to buy a new one. Now lately, I've posted quite a bit on here about different laptops and customizations and brands and set-up etc, etc... but I have found the laptop that I want and need and I was wanting some outside opinions on it. I know many, many people are going to give me crap for it being a HP, but to be honest, I've only owned 4 computers in my life. A old 1999 Gateway desktop, a 2004 HP Pavilion, and a 2004 Dell Dimension 4600, and my current laptop a 2009 HP G56-129. Out of all of those, the HP's have been the ones that we've used and abused and the Dell and Gateway turned into extra parts for the HP to use and just to fool around with. So I will stand by my decision of HP over a Dell due to my experience, but I do realize everyone has different opinions, and that Dell is also a more liked and prominent computer brand.

At any rate, the laptop I was looking into is the HP DV6-7014nr.

Here's the specs of the laptop:

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

CPU: Intel Core i7-3610QM (2.3GHz, 3.3GHz with Turbo, 6MB L3 Cache)

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M (2GB, DDR5)

RAM: 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 2 Dimm

HD: 750GB 7200rpm SATA

Optical: Blu-Ray Player, SuperMulti DVD Burner

Battery: 6-cell Lithium-Ion

Display: 15.6" 1920x1080 Full HD Anti-Glare LED-Backlit

Ports: 4 USB; 1 HDMI; 1 VGA; 1 Ethernet; 1 headphone-out; 1 microphone-in; Digital Media Card Reader

Extras: Backlit Keyboard, 720p HD Webcam, Dual Array Integrated Microphones, Beats Audio, Triple Bass Subwoofer

Well, Personally I'm not a big fan of HP, but honestly You got a quality laptop right there.

It should get you through college and be a good use in the future :)
