Im looking on purchasing a new laptop. I will primarily use the laptop for video editing. I also consider as a secondary option to use the laptop to stream my gaming PC in 1080P 60fps. So it’ll need to be at least a quad core. I don’t really plan to game on it but would like it as a possibility in the future if I’m out of town & want to stream gaming stuff on it. I’m

My price range is at most $2,000. If I can do all of this with less I’d like to know my mid-end & max-end laptop options.

I’m open to using a Mac or PC. Additional features I’d need is an Ethernet port. Not sure what else there is to say. Black Friday is closing in & maybe I can get a good deal somewhere?

My suggestion if you're open to other OS's with that budget & looking for a sale. System76 is having a little bit of a laptop sale currently. They sell pretty powerful laptops too.

Use Kdenlive, DaVinci Resolve, Open Shot, or et cetera to video edit.
Steam for gaming & Proton for Windows titles.
OBS for Streaming.

If for some reason you don't like the PoP OS you can change it to any other Linux distro or even place Windows on there. Without having to go through Boot Camp.

If you are thinking about Linux then System76 are a good choice. I have a Galago UltraPro for almost four years and still a solid machine so, I would have the same expectation for the oryx or serval.

If you want something Windows based then the ones I have been eye balling are the Razor laptops for myself.

Razer Blade Stealth $1499.99

That one has integrated graphics which will probably provide better battery and from what I have read on streaming this will have the wireless card and CPU you need. Not much of a gaming machine though.

Razer RZ09 15.6" $1799.99

Get the same benefits as the one above but also has pretty decent onboard graphics which means you can run games local as well.
