I looked at what you are intending to buy here....

It looks fine, if anything upgrade the hard drive, and without a doubt buy yourself an external hard drive for back ups! You need to be protected regardless of what happens here.

Don't get the gateway... Unless you need the graphics.. The processor is really bad for a $1200+ laptop.
