New Laptop

I'm going to college this year and I need to know what laptop is right for me. I've looked at sites online but everything says something different. I want a laptop with a fairly large amount of memory, an HD screen, and a fast processor. Basically one that I can play large games on with no lag. I've looked at HP's, I've looked at Dell's, I've looked at Alienware's... All I know is that I DO NOT want an apple. Iv'e used apples for 7 years and I hate them.

As far as laptop brands go my recommendations are ASUS, HP, Lenovo/IBM... in no particular order.

What is your budget?

i would recommend my laptop below, i play most games at highest settings, the more demanding games i play on relatively high settings. the only problem i would see with mine is relatively low battery life, i get around 2 hours of battery life, but to be honest the laptop is not really built for battery, more for power.
if not i would go for Dell, although many people say that they are not that good, i would disagree, i, before the sony one, had two dells and before that i had IBM, all very good computer and never had any problems with them, all were able to play recent games at the time and no lag and high settings.

When you are going to purchase? I would say go for Asus.
