New Laptop

I am looking into purchasing a decent laptop for my mums birthday as her old netbooks HHD broke yesterday =(
the old one was very slow and often would freeze up even when only browsing webs...

It doesnt have to be superfast.. Just needs to be able to watch movie and browse webs without any lag.....

I am looking into buying an apple product only because apparently it is more user friendly and virus free (my mum tends to dowlaod anything from any where) and apparently it lasts longer...dunno if that is all true since i never owned any apple products..

So i am just looking for a decent laptop or even netbook well under 300 any brand would do but it needs to have at least microsoft office starter edition pre installed... And no i dont want a net book or laptop pre installed with window 7 with 1gb of ram and 1ghz cpu.......if u guys know what i mean xD

It's true about Apple products. They do tend to last longer.

Do you really need Office to be installed? You could go with something and install LibreOffice instead.
 
I dont like to buy referb items =( especially things that needs to last a long time...

But i guess its true apple products are overpriced i was browsing them myself but the prices are just damn too high for its stats...i just dont understand lol..

the 12th of october is my mums bday so i guess ill keep looking for deals on newegg and best buy..
 
Its just for writing resume and aplication forms etc always handy to have it installed i just hope they dont come with bloat ware xD
 
Got her a samsung laptop with AMD A6 Quad 1.6Ghz 4gb Ram 5400RPM 160GB HDD for $316... Brand new... Although it comes with intergrated graphic the specs are more than enough for my mum... Only down side is the boot is slow and its packed with useless bloat ware....
 
well go into add/remove programs and remove the bloatware. Then also open up run and type in 'msconfig' and make sure only the programs you want are running in boot. This should be the first thing you always do.
 
xD already know that but i really cant be bothered with my mums comp atm.... I havent even installed a proper anti virus program lol... I am a bad son =( ill probably get on it today..
