New MacBook Pro's only 1.5Gb/s

Doesn't really apply to HDD users, but a stupid change none the less.

Annoying for those who upgraded to SSD straight from Apple, but hopefully Apple will of addressed this issue by the time SSD's are cheaper.

Models with factory SSD have the full 3.0Gb/s. Watch it, apple will release a firmware "update" to enable it, and prolly charge $10 for it:P

Is that even possible?

Well, i would assume so as its probably got the speed lowered via the firmware (pc users would liken to the bios) if the factory ssd models have them at full speed... Unless of course they have a different mobo/chipset, if that is the case then this is just another stunt pulled by apple to get you to buy the factory upgrades...

Done a little research, Apple haven't said anything officially yet, but most Mac people have pointed towards a soon to be firmware upgrade.

Stupid considering the old MB's had the full SATA II support, and the new 'Pro' doesn't. Hopefully Apple will address this, like they did the AirPort issues. :P
