Hey everyone, nice to meet everyone. Well lets see I need a new computer lol. I have a emachines from 2001 with a 30 gb Hd that was given to me a few yars ago. I dont have alot of pc experience, but i put a new optical drive, video card, memory and power supply, and it has gone strong, but is now getting tired. Anyway Im not sure if I want to buy or build one. I Am dissabled, so i dont want to spend 3k on a build. I do basic internet surfing, watching movies, and videos,, chatting with friends on webcam so on and so forth. Im not a big pc gamer i have a xbox for that. So that being said i want something that i can have 5 or 6 programs running, and not having the computer freeze, and take 5 minutes to get somewhere. Sorry for the long story, but again nice to meet you all and all help is greatly appreciated.

As far as budget goes I need the works so I know it wont be cheap, Lets say around 600-700 Dollars. I know a mointor is around 120 and the os is a 100 dollars, so that leaves around 400 for parts, do you think its possible. I have been messing around on newegg with some builds, using an i3 processor. I Would like to try and get something that is new enough, that I can upgrade as time passes, for example with Amd and Am3+ motherboard.

ok, so with the current deals and all, and 20 bucks in mail in rebates, and if you order 1 thing and use the coupon codes they send a couple days later, this will leave you with close to 200 for the minitor.

and although these guys will disagree, this is a decent little graphics card and can play almost anything as long as you've got it on low res and some of the other settings on low, mainly shaders.

For this, onboard video works very well. The cost difference could mean an SSD.

Do you want to play any games on this machine? If so, which ones?

well no am3+'s have onboard gpu's, and there was a combo with a little 60 buck card, but i do think there was a cheaper card, and it may have even had a bigger discount, combo'd with that ram, but that also would make it to next to no gaming potential, but still more than mine which as long as low res and low/no shading will work.

and all though there is nothing wrong with them, if you're gunna get am3+, you might as well get the neweest chipsets to go with it, those are all 800's, i linked a 970, and several of those don't have fx (bulldozer) in their supported cpu's list, but yeah he could get one of those and save some on the gpu part.

wow you guys rock, I did not expect all this, so thanks for really helping me out. Benny as far as games go i play around with sim games everyonce in a while, but games like cod black ops and such i play on my xbox. Now i imagine i could get the price down even more if i went with a am3 motherboard, and maybe a athlon processor. Although this will not help me for future upgrades. Now benny what was your idea for me to get a ssd card, i really liked that idea. Also my pc runs wireless through a comcast gateway wireless router modem combo, but i might just use the wirless card that i have in my pc. I do have a video card in my machine that im running now it is a EVGA pci card. Last but not least i tried to post the wish list to no luck, how can i show you all what i have so far. Thanks again, and keep the ideas coming.

just post a lonk to the individual parts seems to be the easiest way to me, and i was using an am3+ board so that upgrades will be available, all current am3 cpu's are being phased out and will not be shipped after january 1 2012, so whatever is in stock is all that'll be left then other than used ones on ebay, and if you have a gpu you can use it in there if it is what you said and it has drivers for win7, as far as the ssd if you wanna then go for it.

if you link to the cart, it goes to our carts as that page goes off of what is saved in the caches/cookies/etc. of the current computer it is being viewed on, you have to link to the page of the items.
